The Disaster Communications Service prides itself in its ongoing training efforts. Below you will learn about the Class B, Class C and Bike Detail Uniforms.
THE DCS OFFICE DOES NOT TAKE UNIFORM ORDERS

DCS has two uniforms, the Class B and Class C both of which are detailed below.  DCS Personnel may wear business casual attire at their District Station if approved by the Station Coordinator.  Prior approval from a Staff Officer is required to wear business casual attire at Station A.  DCS members shall be in uniform at any DCS Event which includes, but is not limited to, a planned event, activation or training session.

DCS members shall be dressed appropriately for the situation.  The Uniform will be designated by the activating DCO as part of every activation/call out.  DCS ID Cards must always be displayed.

The following are the Official DCS Uniforms.  When designated they are to be worn as specified.

THE CLASS C UNIFORM: The most common Uniform type is the Class C Uniform. The Class C Uniform consists of the Green or Beige DCS ID Shirt, BDU Pants (SOLID FORREST OR “ODIE” GREEN ONLY), White Undershirt, Black Shoes and Black Basket Weave Belt. The DCS Hat is optional.  A sample of members wearing the Class C uniform can be seen on the DCS Website. The ID Shirt is available for purchase at the DCS Store.  Members can contact their DCO or CRO to order items or they can purchase them directly at the store when it is open.  Store hours of operation will be posted in the messages. All other items are available at most uniform stores that specialize in law enforcement clothing; a list of several can be found here.

THE CLASS B UNIFORM:
The Class B Uniform consists of the LASD Class B Long or Short Sleeved Shirt with DCS Patches or the ID Shirt, LASD Class B Pants (SOLID FORREST OR “ODIE” GREEN ONLY), White Undershirt, Black Shoes and Black Basket Weave Belt. The DCS Hat is optional.  A sample of a member wearing the Class B uniform can be seen on the DCS Website.  The Patches are purchased through the DCO or CRO (with approval from Staff 1).  The Uniform pants and shirt are available at most uniform stores that specialize in law enforcement clothing; a list of several can be found here.

MODIFICATION FOR BIKE DETAILS ONLY: If you are assigned to a bike detail, you may wear Bike Patrol, Cargo or BDU Shorts (SOLID FORREST OR “ODIE” GREEN ONLY) when on that detail. The Shorts are available at most uniform stores that specialize in law enforcement clothing; a list of several can be found here.
