This is a reminder that the new California Cell Phone Law goes into effect on July 1. The use of a wireless handheld telephone is prohibited while operating a motor vehicle unless it is an emergency. Motorists 18 and over may use a "hands-free device." The use of Amateur Radio equipment does NOT apply to this law. For specific information, please visit the State’s website at: www.ca.gov

The ID Exchange process will begin in approximately five months. As part of the process, a member’s file will be checked to see if they have met the minimum annual hour’s requirement (48) and have completed the required ICS courses (IS 100, 200, 700 and 800). This is a friendly reminder that these classes must be completed very soon. If a member has not met these requirements; a written letter from the DCO, justifying why that member should be considered active and issued a new ID card will be required.
